Get Down into the Crater!

Ya’oh-khazak-al (Ezekiel) 32:17-32

[17] And it came to pass, in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth day of the month, was the word of YA’OH unto me, saying:

[18] Lament for the multitude of Matsraym and cast it down, her and the daughters of the famous nations, to the earth netherparts, with the ones going down into the crater.

[19] More than who are you beautiful? Get down and be laid with the uncircumcised!

[20] In the midst of the slain ones of the sword they will fall, the sword has she been given to, draw out her and all of her multitude.

[21] They will speak to him, the strong ones of the mighty, from the midst of sha’ol, with the ones helping him, they have gone down, they have laid down with the uncircumcised, the slain ones of the sword.

[22] There is Ashor and all her company, round about him are his graves, all of them slain, the ones fallen by the sword,

[23] who have set the graves thereof in the sides of the crater, and it will be her company thereof round about her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who have put terror in the land of the living.

[24] There is Ghaylam, and all her multitude, round about her graves thereof, all of them slain, the fallen ones of the sword which have gone down uncircumcised to the earth netherparts, who gave their terror in the land of the living, and they have borne their shame with them that go down into the crater.

[25] In the midst of the slain have they set a bed for her with all her multitude, all around it are her graves, all of them uncircumcised, the slain ones of the sword, for he gave their terror in the land of the living, and they have borne their shame with the ones going down the crater, in the midst of the slain did he set.

[26] There is Mashach Thabal, and all her multitude, round about it are her graves, all of them uncircumcised, the slain ones of the sword, because they gave their terror in the land of the living.

[27] But not will these lie with the mighty men, the fallen from the uncircumcised who have gone down to the grave with their weapons of war and have put their swords beneath their heads, but it will be that their iniquity is upon their bones, because of the terror of the mighty men in the land of the living.

[28] And you in the midst of the uncircumcised will be broken, and you will lie with the slain ones of the sword.

[29] There is Adom, her kings and all her chiefs who are set with their might with the slain ones of the sword, they will lie uncircumcised, and with the ones going down into the crater.

[30] There are the elite princes of the north, all of them, and all of the Tsaydonay who have gone down with the slain ones with their terror from their might, the shamed ones, and they will lie uncircumcised with the slain ones of the sword, and they have borne their shame with the ones going down into the crater.

[31] Them will Pharaoh see, and he will be comforted about all the multitude thereof, the ones slain of the sword, Pharaoh and all his army, says Lord YA’OH.

[32] For I have put my terror in the land of the living, and he shall be laid in the midst of the uncircumcised, with the slain ones of the sword, Pharaoh and all of his multitude, says Lord YA’OH.

COMMENTARY

Ya’oh-khazak-al (Ezekiel) 32:17-32 is a vivid, poetic funeral dirge (lament) over Pharaoh and his multitudes, his entire army, and six other nations. This passage is the sixth out of seven dated oracle against “Matsraym” (Egypt) in the book (29:1-16; 30:1-19; 30:20-26; 31:1-18; 32:1-16; 32:17-32; 29:17-21). The Pharaoh in all seven of these oracle parables spoken against Matsraym is in reality the prophetic end-time king of Babal, the last president of the United States of America, the most powerful man in the world leading the strongest nation ever to exist in the history of human civilization.

The present parable basically eulogizes the death of Matsraym and six other nations through the metaphor of a violent descent into a massive “pit” or “crater” which acts as their shared grave: “Cast it down, her and the daughters of the famous nations, to the earth netherparts, with the ones going down into the crater” (v. 18).

Although a nation’s death is metaphorical you would not eulogize a nation and its entire army unless it has been destroyed. A nation’s descent into the underworld and their dead bodies into the depths of a pit to keep other deceased nations company is indeed metaphorical, but the image of a “crater” adds a touch of realism.

A distinction needs to be made therefore between the “netherparts of earth,” which is a reference to the underworld, and the “crater,” which is a geological landform, specifically a bowl-shaped depression on the surface of the ground. The parable says there are those who go down to the netherparts of the earth with those going down to the crater. So the two locations are identical in terms of destination and at the same time they are not identical.

The underworld is an actual place where the souls of the deceased go. There is never any shortage of space for the souls of the deceased in the underworld (Mashalaym 27:20; 30:15-16). The pit is a real place where dead bodies are buried, but a pit full of tombs said to be in the underworld is figurative language.

Therefore, the massive circular “crater” in the parable, which is not dug by human hands, does not merely serve as a metaphorical prop. It is also meant to signify a real geological phenomena, one that is caused by the impact of a very large asteroid or comet moving at hypervelocity speed. When the extraterrestrial object collides with the surface of the earth, or when the object explodes in the atmosphere before reaching the ground, but still close enough to the surface for the explosion in the air to impact the ground, a gigantic bowl-shaped pit is instantly gouged out of the ground’s surface.

This distinction between the underworld and a “crater” is necessary since the parable is talking about the sudden downfall of the world’s strongest nation. Missiles and bombers can be intercepted and shot down, even on short notice. Asteroids and comets cannot. Missiles are intercepted using existing state-of-the art military hardware such as surface-to-air missiles (SAMs), aircraft, and anti-ballistic missile (ABM) systems, all designed to track and destroy aircraft and missiles within minutes.

However, asteroids and comets require specialized, long-term planetary defense strategies to change their trajectory such as the Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) mission which altered an asteroid’s course but required years of planning and a known target.

As of today, no nation on earth has in its possession a fully deployed, operational planetary defense “shield” that can shoot down on short notice a major threatening asteroid or comet that has managed to remain undetected until it is so close there is no time to respond.

Asteroids or comets roughly 1 km (0.62 miles) or more in diameter that have gone undetected are primarily those that approach Earth from the direction of the sun’s glare. If a large, undetected object were discovered in the sun’s blind-spot with only weeks or months of lead time, humanity is currently without a “rapid-response” interceptor or a standing “shield” system ready for immediate deployment.

Objects about 140 meters (460 feet) wide can destroy an entire city and cause catastrophic regional damage. NASA estimates there are approximately 25,000 such near-Earth asteroids, fewer than half of which are currently tracked.

This doomsday scenario is the only one that can explain how the strongest nation in the world with the strongest army the world has ever seen is destroyed in one day (Yashai-Ya’oh 47:9). Even if the next five strongest nations after the U.S. were to join forces and combine their armies they could not accomplish this. Conventional modern warfare will not bring down the United States of America. That ship sailed a long time ago. The only thing that can bring the United States of America down in a single day is a cosmic disaster of catastrophic proportions originating from space.

A recurring theme in the parable is the “uncircumcised” (gharal). In Ghabarayth, this term generally describes something that is blocked, closed off, restricted, or unusable (Thorah 2.6:12, 30; Thorah 3.19:23; 26:41). The “deaths of the uncircumcised” is also mentioned in Ya’oh-khazak-al 28:10 in the oracles against Tyre (chapters 26-28), oracles which are also talking about the same nation as in the present parable.

The creation of a permanent, hollowed-out depression in the earth’s surface caused by either a massive low-altitude explosion of a large asteroid or comet travelling at hypervelocity speed, or by the object striking the surface of the Earth intact, will make that area “uncircumcised” and “restricted” in its raw, natural, and “unconsecrated” state. Nations that fall in association with this cosmic catastrophe are “the ones slain by the sword” and “uncircumcised” by default.

The eulogy begins with a question to the Pharaoh, “More than who are you beautiful?” (v. 19). His “beauty” is defined in the parable as his ability to project power, his military might, and put his “terror” in the land of the living.

Nevertheless, Pharaoh is ordered to “get down” and be laid with the “uncircumcised” (v. 19). What this image conveys in the context of a catastrophe that ends the world’s strongest nation is not the presence of literal foreskin on the soldiers as they are killed, nor is it a moral condition of their heart, but rather a devastating impact that results in a crater and renders the area of the impact site “unusable” for agriculture and for human and animal habitation.

In vv. 20-21, it is described as a civilization-ending event when the powerful nations of the world, beginning with the most powerful one of all, become “uncircumcised” and fall together. The United States of America receives the direct hit, and then its allies and all other nations fall in association with that event. When the Unites States of America falls it will not be falling alone.

The six fallen nations named in vv. 22-30 are not to be confused with the famous ones with those same names documented from antiquity. The nations in this short list are the “daughters” (v. 18) of those famous nations, meaning their latter-day counterparts. Each daughter nation is mighty in its own right by having directly fought foreign wars as state militaries, but none are as “beautiful” as Pharaoh and his multitude.

The list of daughter nations is arranged according to the status of their archtypes in the ancient world.

In vv. 22-23, the mighty daughter nation of “Ashor” (Assyria) that put her terror in the world is the modern-day country of Iraq, which was a menace to its neighbors until the Iraq war in 2003. Ashor has his graves around the sides of the pit, but it is not said that this daughter nation went down “uncircumcised”.

This section does not explicitly use the word “uncircumcised” to describe Ashor, whereas the term is directly applied to other nations in the surrounding verses. The context of the entire chapter strongly implies that Ashor will be grouped with the uncircumcised in the same pit, but it does not go down into the pit in the uncircumcised state. We can conclude that Ashor’s fall was not in association with the event that causes the United States of America and other nations to fall.

In vv. 24-25, the mighty daughter nation of “Ghaylam” (Elam) that put her terror in world is the modern-day country of Iran, the number one state sponsor of terrorism in the world. For the first time in the parable it is explicitly stated that this daughter nation went down into the pit “uncircumcised”.

The prophets do not waste words. So the redundancy of the themes in this section for Ghaylam and its multitude must have a reason. Two descents seem to be mentioned. The first descent is to the underworld (v. 24). The second descent is to the “crater” where Ghaylam has a bed to go with her graves (v. 24). That she is “uncircumcised” in both descents must mean she began her initial fall prior to the catastrophic civilization-ending event, but she only meets her final demise when that event occurs and not before. The initial descent is the current Operation Epic Fury of 2026.

In vv. 26-28, the mighty daughter nation of “Mashach Thabal” that put her terror in the world is the modern-day country of Turkey which has directly fought in several foreign wars and international military conflicts as a state military since the founding of the Republic in 1923. Turkey is also a long-standing and critical member of NATO, having joined the alliance on February 18, 1952. The country maintains the second-largest standing army in NATO, surpassed only by the United States.

The daughter nation of Mashach Thabal make just one trip “uncircumcised” into the pit, but they do not bring their weapons with them like the other nations who were buried with their swords under their heads. Only “their iniquities will be upon their bones”. The words seem at first to contradict v. 26 until it is realized that the same prophet foresees a future for Mashach Thabal beyond the disaster that puts them in the crater along with Matsraym and other nations.

In other words, they leave their weapons behind in the land of the living and go down into the pit without them because a later generation will make use of them. After many years have transpired, Mashach Thabal return from the dead, ascending metaphorically out from the depths of the pit, and they become the leaders of an alliance of nations that will go against the camp of Ya’oh-shar-al (Ya’oh-khazak-al 38-39).

In v. 29, the mighty daughter nations of “Adom” (Edom) that put her terror in the world are the modern-day nations of West Africa (Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana,  Côte d’Ivoire), countries with the highest concentration of people who share the same Y-DNA lineage as the children of Ya’oh-shar-al, and where the name “Adom” surives unto this day. The Adomay nations put there terror in the land of the living when they enslaved Ya’oh-shar-al in West Africa long before they sold them to the Europeans who brought them by ships to the land of pyramids in the New World during the trans-Atlantic slave trade.

The text says “all her kings and all her chiefs” will be laid in the pit. Although these modern states in West Africa are republics, traditional leadership structures (such as kings and chiefs) still exist in many of these countries as cultural and traditional authorities. For example, the Ashanti King (Asantehene) in Ghana and various traditional rulers (Obas and Emirs) in Nigeria hold significant social and ceremonial influence, but they do not exercise formal sovereign political power over the modern nation-states. All of these Adomay nations in West Africa are active partners and security allies of the United States of America.

In v. 30, the mighty daughters of the “elite rulers of the north” who spread their terror in the world are the modern European nations. Exactly 10 are hereditary monarchies that pass their thrones down through specific royal or noble families, 2 are non-hereditary monarchies (the Vatican and Andorra), and the remaining sovereign states are republics.

Lastly, in v. 30, the mighty daughter nation of the “Tsaydonay” (Sidonians) who put their terror in the world is identified with the modern Jewish State of Israel occupying the land of “Chanain” (Canaan) whose firstborn son was “Tsaydon” (Thorah 1.10:19). The modern nation of Lebanon where the historical city of Tsaydon is located is excluded as the “mighty daughter” nation since the only foreign war it participated in as a state military was the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, and its role in that war was largely symbolic and minimal compared to the other Arab nations.

We may also include the powerful northern nations of Russia, China, Japan, North Korea, etc., in v. 30, as they too will fall after America falls, but the European nations out of which America sprang stand out.

While the collapse of the U.S. will immediately destabilize the world economy, the most immediate and severe consequences would fall on nations that rely on American security guarantees, energy exports, and financial systems. As of 2026, the U.S. remains the world’s undisputed superpower. A sudden exit would literally remake the world overnight. Not if but when the U.S. is destroyed by the extraterrestrial object from space, and a massive crater is carved out in the area where the U.S. capital now stands, it will remain as a symbol and as a memorial of the nations’ shared demise and their common grave.

A chilling irony in the parable is presented where Pharaoh, upon seeing himself and his own multitudes descend into the pit, is “comforted” (v. 31) and pleased to find that he will not be alone, and that the terror-spreading nations have all met the same fate. What kind of demented, unfiltered, impulsive, and unscripted man must a sitting U.S. president be to find comfort and solace in knowing that the nations of the world, even ones that his country defended and made rich by trade, are now fallen with him into the same pit and will not continue on after him? He will be contented with his fate – the greatest president in history and also the last, as he will not be followed by a successor.

That man must have an ego the size of Mar-a-Lago.

The concluding v. 32 all but spills the beans that the “terror” YA’OH will put in the world when He destroys the most powerful nation in history, and also shuts down all other nations, weak and strong, is a catastrophe that could only come from the skies far above the earth. It is His sword that is “bathed in heaven” (Yashai-Ya’oh 34:5).

His name is YA’OH
Always has been. Always will be.
