Was Cannabis Used in the Holy Oil?

Thorah 2 (Exodus) 30:23-33

[23] And you, take to yourself aromatic spices of the best quality: mar daror (pure myrrh) 500, and kanaman basham (cinnamon of aromatic spice) half of it 250; and kanah basham (reed of aromatic spice) 250.

[24] and kadah (iris flower) 500, by shakal of the sanctuary, and shaman zayth (oil of olive) a hyn.

[25] and you will make it an oil, ointment of holiness, a spice-mixture perfume, a spice-mixture perfume work of the spice-mixture perfume maker. An oil, ointment of holiness, it will be.

[26] and you will anoint with it the tabernacle of meeting, and the Ark of the testimony,

[27] and the table, and all the vessels thereof, and the manarah and its vessels, and the altar of the incense,

[28] and the altar of burned offering, and all its vessels, and the laver and its base pedestal.

[29] and you will sanctify them, and they will be holy of holies. Any of the one touching in them will be holy.

[30] and Ahran and his sons you will anoint and you will sanctify them to be priest to me.

[31] and to the sons of Ya’oh-shar-al, you will speak saying: an oil, ointment of holiness will it be this to me to your generations.

[32] Upon the flesh of a man not will it be poured, and by the measure proportion of it, not will you make like unto it. Holy it is. Holy it will be to you all.

[33] a man, whosoever which will make perfume like unto it, and whosoever which will give from it upon a foreign alien stranger, he will be cut off from his peoples.

Commentary

Thorah 2 (Exodus) 30:23, Song of Shalamah (Solomon) 4:14, Yashai-Ya’oh (Isaiah) 43:24, Yaram-Ya’oh (Jeremiah) 6:2, and Ya’oh-khazak-al (Ezekiel) 27:19 are the only biblical references to a fragrant reed plant with an upright aspect transliterated from the Pure Language into Latin/English letters as “kanah basham” and “kanah tob.” This plant is one of the ingredients used in making the holy anointing oil which is a special herbal formula that functions as a polishing ointment and a fragrant perfume for the Ark of the Covenant, the Tabernacle, and other holy vessels of the Tabernacle. It is strictly forbidden to be manufactured for common use, or even anything like unto it, and be used to anoint an Ya’oh-shar-al-ay who is not a son of Ahran, or given to an alien stranger (Thorah 2.30:31–33). The exception are the priests who are sons of Ahran (Thorah 2.30:30).

Modern-day heathens are confused as to the exact plant that is intended by “kanah basham” but most so-called “authorities” believe it is Acorus calamus or lemon grass, and a minority lunatic fringe want you to believe it is cannabis.

Let’s set the record straight, shall we? The noun “kanah” means tall, upright reed/cane, and the noun “basham” means aromatic spice. Hence, the translation of the noun-noun construct phrase “kanah basham” means “reed of aromatic spice.” Song of Shalamah 4:14 indicates that it was grown as an ornamental garden plant. Acorus calamus is a tall plant of wet areas, scarcely the setting of a garden, plus it is not native to the land of Ya’oh-shar-al (Israel). That’s an emphatic “no” to Acorus calamus as being the candidate for the biblical “kanah basham.” As for lemon grass, although it is safe to use lemongrass essential oil for skin, it causes more allergic reactions and skin sensitization than other oils. Lemongrass oil can also lighten dark skin! That’s an emphatic “no” to lemon grass as being the candidate for the biblical “kanah basham.” Lastly, although cannabis is a garden plant it is not a tall reed/cane. That’s an emphatic “no” to cannabis as being the candidate for the biblical “kanah basham.” Sorry, but you’re just going to have to defend and justify your weed addiction some other way, because the Thorah of YA’OH is not available to you as a source. It never was.

The truth is that “kanah basham” is not a mystery plant at all. It is any of the species of the tall growing, ornamental garden variety of aromatic reeds (including lemon grass though it is not part of this particular recipe).

Whenever it is time to make a new batch of the holy anointing oil, it is the task of a prophet or a priest to select the best of the best of “kanah basham” that is available, as well as the best of the best of the other botanical ingredients listed in the holy formula. There are different types of “kanaman basham” (cinnamon of aromatic spice) and there is more than one type of “mar” (myrrh) and there are different kinds of “kadah” (iris flower) which come in all colors of the rainbow. The Thorah does not name a specific type of the species for each plant to be used. Hence, the best of the best, and nothing but the best qualities available are what will be used by the perfume maker of our people. He can even use more than one variety of the same plant in the shakal measure proportion specified by the recipe. Same with the “kanah basham.”

It’s as simple as that.

The redeemed remnant gathered together in the wilderness by YA’OH will be making this holy perfume oil soon, and they will be using it exactly as the Thorah instructs it to be used in the tabernacle of YA’OH that they will build in the wilderness.

Leave it to the true intended target audience of the book to be the ones to explain the book correctly and to shine light where light is needed. Their Rock has not abandoned them. He has sent them a servant. Their Rock also has a name.

His name is YA’OH
Always has been. Always will be.

I really glad you straightened that out AKH RAVENOUS because for years at least 25years I’ve been telling MUDDRAZZES who are so into herbs, that cannabis / marijuana, hashi, opium, are not to be smoked and have No Biblical or cultural use by YA’OHSHARAL. If you want to put some on your salad grind it in your juicier , make you a Smoothies or something knock yourself out. This information has definitely been very fruitful for me MABAYN RAVENOUS, SHALOM. Praise YA’OH
